Clerestory Magazine recently reprinted two of my poems from Choosing a Stone for their issue featuring creative writing about food: “Bliss” and “Basque Cooking.” Clerestory “provides space for writers, artists, community leaders, and activists to engage subjects at the intersection of action and contemplation, bridging the gap between inner and outer work.”

I was once again welcomed by Audrey Nowakowski toWUWM’s “Lake Effect” program on April 14th, 2022. This broadcast honored 414 Day (Milwaukee’s area code). I read my poem “Streets of Old Milwaukee” and discussed MPM’s gallery of the same name, as well as conditions in Milwaukee during WWI.

I was thrilled to be a featured poet at the launch of DeWitt Clinton’s newest book of poems, Hello There in March of 2022. The Shepherd Express published a fine article about Dewitt and his new book.

I’m honored to have my work included in The Banyan Review’s Poets Interval series. Many thanks to  editor Tayve Neese for featuring two poems. The goal of this program is to feature poets, artists, thinkers, and essayists between published issues as a way to showcase exceptional writers and their work.

On November 4th, 2021 I again had the privilege of chatting with Audrey Nowakowski during a Poetry Break on WUWM’s “Lake Effect” radio program, and reading poems about the Milwaukee Public Museum’s mummy and King Tut.

On Tuesday, June 22nd, I had the pleasure of again chatting with WUWM’s Audrey Nowakowski and reading my poem “Fragile”, about the Milwaukee Public Museum’s Rain Forest exhibit, during the Lake Effect” radio program’s Poetry Break.

Pleased to say that both of my poetry books, Choosing a Stone and The Discovery of Heaven, have been selected for inclusion in the Wisconsin Poetry Collection at the Milwaukee Public Library. This unique reference collection reflects the contributions of Wisconsin poets to the state’s celebrated literary heritage through their published works, which will be housed at the Library in perpetuity.

On March 18th, I had the privilege of running a new workshop, “The Words Choose You: Poetry Demystified” hosted by the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UW-Milwaukee. This online interactive writing workshop focused on silencing the internal critic and opening the creative imagination and designed to demystify poetry, bringing the poet’s essential tools (diversity, language, poetic architecture, and metaphor) into practice.
